Cwmbran 6 v Penarth A 2

Another win and bouncing back from the loss to Aber Uni 3-1. Well done the 11 players who could get there. Jamie Evans scored in that one and he was the scorer I couldn't remember from the Swansea game. Goals this week came from Rhys Edwards, Craig Archer (2), Richard Eaton (3) Hat-rick hero and ower of a jug at the cricket club.. We played ok and were 5 nil up at half time but again we had another mega wobble in the early part of the second half. When will we keep a clean sheet? We are now the division's highest scorers with 43 goals but we still only have a +9 goal difference(?) Next week we go to division leaders Cardiff and we've got to beat them to keep our promotion hopes alive. Come on everyone playing Aber Uni help us out!

Rich, and yes I will buy a jug of Stella the next time we play at home honest.

Doing ok?

A long time since the last match report but things have looked up a bit since then.

On 10th November we went down to Swansea and played the Uni's second team. We went one up early (ish) on but then things were a bit wobbly for a while after they got back to 1-1 and hit the post and got one cleared off the line. Eventually we ran out 5-1 winners. Congrats to the bare 11 who could make it down and it was a good and enjoyable all round team performance. Goals from Matt Lloyd (2), Richard Eaton (2) and Rhys Edwards. Of note was Matt Stollery's deserved yellow card which he got for swearing at his own captain!

Last weekend Swansea Bay 3s were the visitors at the stadium and again after a tidy start and taking the lead Swansea got a goal back and we had our customary wobbly spell. Eventually we ran out 5-2 winners (not bad when the star striker is sidelined due to injury). Now, even though I watched the game, having been sidelined due to injury, I don't seem to be able to remember much about it. Stollery scored 3 and was supposed to buy a jug (did he?) Rhys scored a tidy looking falling over reverse stick jobbie and someone else scored but I cannot remember who (any ideas?)

We now face the trip to Aber Uni on Saturday, where the division's highest scorers (us) take on the meanest defence (them), knowing that a win would take us second.

Happy Days!

Rich (self proclaimed star striker)

Crows 2 - 5 Cadiff Uni C (away)

CROWS LET DOWN BY UNAVAILABILITY!

Goal scorers

Richard Eaton (2)

Match Summary

The crows headed into this game with 8 players unavailable, allowing only 11 players able to play. Agaisnt a young uni team with 16 players it was inevitable that this was the result.

The crows took the lead in the first half from Rich Eaton putting the ball into an empty net after a superb run from Paul Rees that let the keeper in no mans land, the ball was squared to Eaton to put it. The crows then let in 2 quick goals for yet again short corners, another goal quickly followed after the crows defence seemed to stand off the forward to hit a misshit shot past Andy Turner. The Crwos pulled 1 back through a viscious undercut from Eaton again. It seemed to be looking up for the crows after a bright start to the second half, but then sloppy defending alowed cardiff uni to put in another 2. Though a string a missed chances by Eaton, Evans and Miller could off make it 6-5.
